Poverty in Cambodia (Based on my experience)

Cambodia formerly known as Kampuchea or Kingdom of Cambodia.
Yet there are still number of people still do not know where is this country.
It is located north of Thailand and East of Vietnam.
In 2009 Census, Cambodia reported to have a population of over 14.8 million and being named as the Top 100 most populous country in the world.

Thou they are one of the top 100 most populous country, yet they have a high poverty and child prostitute in the South East Asia region after Thailand.

(Based on a true story, experience and witness by me)
Cambodia is a under developed country. It has been ranked as same level as Ethiopia, Kenya and other under developed country.
When i was going to Cambodia in 2010, I had witness a lot of thing.
We as a human, or Malaysian living in a developing country, we should proud what we have.

Some tourist attractions, we will see lots of children making some handicrafts and even beg for money.
In Cambodia, 1000 = Rm 1.. But they rarely use their own currency. They use USD because of their low currency value.
And there is one day, i saw a kid (like 12 years old) holding a 6 months old baby.
I was curious that, how a small kid can born a baby? Then i ask the tour guide.

Me: Why is this girl so young and she has a baby?
TG: Well, it is normal to see this kind of thing happen in Cambodia. Kids are usually married to other older guys because their family is poor.
Me: Then why the girl is begging? I taught the husband is rich?
TG: For girls, begging is a normal activity for them. They help their husband by begging money from the tourist.

(As we can see from this 'some how' conversation, we can see that it has violate the child rights.)
Then, i proceed to the nearby shop to buy some ice cream for the young kid. Poor her =(

Then the next day, we went to Tonle Sap.
Well, our attention is being caught by the nice sunset view until suddenly there are kids from the other boat jump in to our boat.
At first we were shocked, and we saw them coming in our boat and beg for money.
Then arrive to the tonle sap main jetty, we saw lots of beggar.

See the pictures below..

Tonle Sap Sunset view. It has been reported this is the best sunset scene ever in Asia.

These are the some of the beggars near Tonle Sap.
(Did you realize there is a small kid in the some called like big pail?)
This is how mostly children help their parents to beg money from tourist.
And if you can see, there are 2 so called babies, actually they are 2 years old.
Because without food and water, the babies has to drink their mother's milk.

I remember this pity girl. She has an red eye infections. It looks like she din't have a good rest
Yet she help her parents to beg money from tourist.
I gave her USD 2. Hope this might help her a bit. Buying a bit of foods?

So, if you get a chance to travel. Let's visit Cambodia and help this children.
We might not have lots of money but bring your own used stuffs to Cambodia might help this poor people.

Bad Service

Mr Anthony, The CIMB banker thinks of this =)

Went to CIMB bank to help my grandma to take the money from the BR1M voucher yesterday.
I've been treated in a rude way!
What the 'F' is wrong with the employee.
It is a normal thing for customer to ask 'Why it take so long ?'
Since i'd been waiting from 2.35 till 3 p.m.
Then since it is so long, i make a decision to go and ask the employee who serve us just now.

Here's the conversation...
Me: Excuse me, Sir. How long is this going to take?
Employee: *Ignored me*
Me: Excuse me, How long is this going to take?
Employee: (With an angry voice).. The officer is not here. Can't you wait?
Me: Hey Sir. Please behave ok? I'm just asking you in a proper way! What service u give?
Employee: (With an angry voice).. If you can't wait, you can find another agent. You think I'm happy serving you?
Me: 0.0. Never mind. Your going to eat my complain letter soon!

This is what i get during the time in CIMB bank.
I had lodge a complain to the headquarters. Hope the BOD take action on this case.
This is not the way to treat the customer, Mr Anthony!

Say NO to Racism

Racism has been a major talking point in Malaysia..
What is the meaning of Racism? Why does it need to be exist since we can avoid it from happening.

Recap 13th March 1969, Malaysia's Black History.. When Chinese against Malay.
This kind of issue we can avoid and everyone is to blame.
As Im a Chinese, I do have friends which is from different religion.
As a Chinese, we should not look down on other races since we know that Chinese had dominate Malaysia's economy since 1957.

Recap on what happen that day,
When i was serving my National Service in Ulu Pari Aqua Village, lots of bumiputera from Sarawak likes to mock Chinese by using words like 'Cina Babi or Cina balik Cina'.. It's rude to hear this kind of words from their mouth.
And this also trigger some of the chinese fight with the malays and Bumi.
So why should this kind of thing happen?

How is the country going to improve since racism cannot be overcome?

So I wish all the racist kids out there, stop racism..
No one is better, at the end, no one benefits from it!

Countries around the world

People like your parents might guess, Hmmm... Where do bring my family for vacations this long holiday break?
Well actually, for me.. I've been travelling the world since I was 6.
From a small kid travelling with family and now, about to travel alone to meet friends at there.
2013, I might be travelling with one of my besties to Jakarta, Indonesia.

Why travelling means a lot to me?
Well, not because I'm showing that I'm rich and able to travel. (As we know, Money is needed)
But why not spending the money in travelling?
For me, travelling means a lot to me. I can experience the culture, history, geography or something like that.
For so far, I've been to Bangkok, Thailand (1999) ... New York-Vegas-San Francisco, USA (2000) ..
Tokyo-Osaka-Nagasaki, Japan (2001) ... Hong Kong City (2005,2011) ... Shanghai, China (2009)
Siem Reap-Phnom Penh, Cambodia (2010) ... Taipei-Kaoh-Hsiung, Taiwan (2011).

This travelling means a lot to me but in this trip that I had been, I would recommend people who love history, Go to Cambodia. It has lots of things offer.
But this year end 2012, I will be going to Perth, Western Australia for a 10 day trip and meet up one of my besties, Kai Wen & Singapore with my family.

But I had make myself a list. Hope i can visit this 5 cities / Country..
> Da Nang, Vietnam > New Delhi, India. > New Zealand > Manila, Philippines

It's been a great thing that I know some new friends.
We have lots of fun from Sandakan to the Kundasang.
It's been a lots of joy with them!

But for the unlucky part, 2 bad things happen in just 10 days gap.
At first, Involved in an Accident which luckily no one injured after an Epic accident.
This accident happen because I was trying to avoid the stupid Kancil (A sucks Malaysian manufacture car) coming out from the right side and I have to avoid it and hit the divider.. Luckily no one hurts and my car even still able to function.
